Vostok1520 remains Russian leader by rolling stock performance

Vostok1520 (part of First Heavy Haul Company) kept its place as Russia’s most productive rolling stock operator in 2018, according to the country’s best-known rail industry rating, INFOLine Rail Russia TOP. The companyoperates an up-to-date fleet of rail cars with increased payload, enabling transport of more cargo without increase of traffic volumes.

Efficiency of Vostok1520 technology depends on increased maintenance-free travel distances, guaranteed by the manufacturer (up to 6,000 km), elimination of downtime, and reduction of uncoupling repairs compared with standard cars. Taken together, these advantages ensure more effective work on the rail network per unit of time.

Growth of freight turnover and diversification of transportation routes helped Vostok1520 to retain first place by productivity last year. The company was 3rd largest in Russia by freight volumes in 2018, accounting for18.2% of Russian coal exports and increasing transportation of fuel inside Russia for power generators andhousing utilities. In 2018 the company began transportation of metallurgy products using new-generationfreight cars.

Improvement of key performance indicators raised Vostok1520 to 7th place in the INFOLine Rail Russia TOP ranking of Russia’s biggest rolling stock operators in 2018.
